A rigorous, NMCN-accredited 3-year programme that transforms dedicated students into compassionate, clinically competent Registered Nurses ready to serve in any healthcare setting in Nigeria and beyond.

The Basic Nursing programme at SCNS is a three-year full-time course leading to the award of a Registered Nurse (RN) certificate, fully recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). It provides a comprehensive grounding in the art and science of nursing — preparing graduates for safe, ethical, and effective practice across all clinical settings.
Students rotate through medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and community wards at affiliated teaching hospitals, gaining broad clinical exposure under qualified supervision. The programme combines theoretical instruction with hands-on simulation laboratory practice, ensuring clinical competence is built from the very first year of training.
"Learning and Caring for Humanity"
To cultivate competent, compassionate nursing professionals through transformative education, evidence-based practice, and strategic clinical partnerships — advancing community health and national well-being.
To produce visionary nurse leaders and advocates who redefine quality healthcare delivery with integrity, moral courage, and a commitment to equity in every community they serve.
Nursing is a sacred blend of science, empathy, and ethical rigour. Guided by NMCN standards and global best practices, we nurture lifelong learners who respect human dignity and drive positive change.
