The Department of Nursing Sciences at Standard College of Nursing Sciences, Minna (SCNS) serves as the foundational arm of the College, offering top-tier education in General Nursing through accredited ND Nursing and Basic Nursing programmes.

Over a decade and a half of excellence in nursing education

2020

Initial Establishment

Standard College of Nursing Sciences was established in Minna, Niger State, beginning as a School of Nursing with a commitment to quality healthcare education.

2020

NMCN Accreditation

Received full accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) for Basic Nursing and Basic Midwifery programmes.

2022

Expansion & Modernization

Expanded programme offerings to include Post-Basic Nursing, Community Nursing, and Community Midwifery. Modern simulation labs commissioned.

2024

Digital Transformation

Launched E-Learning enabled Post Community Nursing and Midwifery programmes. Full digital infrastructure deployed across all departments.

2026

Continued Excellence

Now training over 1,000 students with a 98% licensure exam pass rate. Recognized as Niger State's premier nursing institution.

  • Admission through JAMB/UTME with minimum score of 140

Professional Path

Professional Licensing & Examination

Your journey from student to licensed professional nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

NMCN License

Upon successful completion of all requirements, graduates register and obtain a professional license from NMCN, renewable every 3 years.

ND / Basic Nursing Completion

Complete all ND/Basic Nursing requirements with approved minimum CPGA.

Clinical Work Experience

Successfully complete all phases of supervised clinical work experience (SCWES).
