Post Community Nursing & Midwifery 2025/2026

The Post Community Nursing and Post Community Midwifery Programs at Standard College of Nursing Sciences, Minna, are advanced 18 Months courses designed to transform Registered Community Nurses (RCN) and Registered Community Midwives (RCM) into Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Midwives (RM). Fully accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), these programs combine rigorous theoretical instruction with hands-on clinical training to prepare graduates for leadership in healthcare.

Post Community Nursing equips nurses with skills in general nursing, focusing on acute and chronic care, health promotion, and disease prevention across diverse settings, enabling them to serve as RNs in hospitals and communities.

Post Community Midwifery trains midwives to deliver comprehensive maternal and neonatal care, including safe delivery, postnatal support, and family planning, preparing them as RMs to reduce maternal and infant mortality.

Who is Eligible? Registered Community Nurses (RCN) or Registered Community Midwives (RCM) with a valid NMCN license and five O’Level credits in relevant subjects are eligible. See detailed criteria below.

Candidates must meet the following requirements to enroll in the Post Community Nursing or Post Community Midwifery Programs:

• Professional Qualification:
  • Post Community Nursing: Registered Community Nurse (RCN) with a valid NMCN license.
  • Post Community Midwifery: Registered Community Midwife (RCM) with a valid NMCN license.
• Educational Requirements: Five O’Level credits in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, in not more than two sittings.
• Additional Requirements: Medical fitness certificate and a reference letter from a previous employer or academic institution.

Note: RCM candidates are prioritized for Post Community Midwifery. Ensure all documents are prepared before applying.
